'Future Beauty: 30 Years of Japanese Fashion' explores the tremendous innovation of Japanese fashion designers from the early 1980s to the present.
With nearly 100 garments featured in the exhibition, ranging from the classic and elegant to outrageous, this will be a fascinating experience and rare opportunity to view these unique creations first hand.

Exclusive to GOMA during ‘Future Beauty’ the Comme des Garçons Pocket store is the Japanese label’s first Queensland retail space. The shop will stock the iconic Play line, as well as wallets and fragrances.

Fashionista Lunch Package
Delight your senses with a two-course 'Future Beauty' inspired lunch package at the hatted GOMA Restaurant, including a glass of Yarrabank Cuvee and exhibition entry. QAGOMA Executive Chef, Josue Lopez, has created a delicious dessert of caramelised chocolate with cherry textures taking its cue from Koji Tatsuno's remarkable designs featured in the exhibition.

'Future Beauty' was first conceived for display at the Barbican Art Gallery, London, and has subsequently toured to Haus der Kunst, Munich; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo; the Seattle Art Museum and the Peabody Essex Museum in the United States; and the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto before its showing at GOMA in Brisbane.
The Kyoto Costume Institute was established by Wacoal Corp in 1978.
'Future Beauty: 30 Years of Japanese Fashion' is at the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA), Brisbane from November 1, 2014 to February 15, 2015.
Tickets are now available online for pre purchase. Adults $21.50, concession $17.50, including booking fees. In a first for the cultural precinct, GOMA and the Queensland Museum are teaming up to offer a limited number of joint fashion exhibition tickets.
