During the ceremony, Director Lin spoke of the proper role and responsibilities of the museum in the modern day society. She expects TFAM to actively and positively strengthen the bonding with the art community and international art circles building on the museum’s 30 years of experience in exhibitions, academic research, educational promotions, and art collection. TFAM will be more active to gather the collective resources from all kinds of art organizations including the art industry and international art field and to infuse artistic energy into the art and culture circles. Director Lin also mentioned the multi-tasks and challenges the 32-year-old museum has encountered in this new wave of rapid development and aging society. These challenges and tasks such as the planning and executing of the New Museum project, the Taipei Biennale and the Venice Biennale all required the join forces of all TFAM members. In domain of the professional knowledge of arts and art administration category, including the personnel training and the outward collaboration, the practice and performance of the museum will keep pace with the contemporary society to envision a more diverse and international culture for the masses. Director Lin hopes to receive support and feedback from all sectors on the tasks and responsibilities expected of TFAM, the first modern and contemporary art museum in Taiwan, which to encourage the museum for the next 30 years.
