TENT Rotterdam is a platform for contemporary art in Rotterdam that connects the city’s art with what is happening around the world and, via a wide-ranging programme, focuses on relevant developments in contemporary art. TENT is one of four branches of CBK Rotterdam, the central organisation in Rotterdam for bringing art, the city, artists, and audiences in contact with each other.
Ove Lucas, director CBK Rotterdam: ‘In appointing Anke Bangma, CBK Rotterdam has the right person for taking new steps at TENT. I have high expectations of her astute vision on the role of contemporary artists in Rotterdam.’
Anke Bangma on her appointment at TENT: ‘I am very happy with this opportunity to play an active part in the Rotterdam art world again. The groundbreaking approaches and social engagement among Rotterdam’s artists have always been an inspiration to me. TENT can stimulate artistic experiments and reveal current developments against the backdrop of a city that, in many ways, is a mirror of our time. TENT has, therefore, gained a position as a vibrant meeting place for a broad and young audience. I look forward to working in this dynamic place with a wide variety of artists, including the generation for whom interculturalism is a prominent aspect of art and culture today.’
